AlUla rewards being early and being late. In between it is hot and full.
This itinerary is built around that: Hegra at opening, the canyons at dusk, and the middle of the day spent somewhere with shade. The guide lives there and knows which wadi is empty on which morning.

The Nabataean tombs before the heat and before the groups. Back for the middle of the day.

The Lihyanite capital and the open-air library of inscriptions, with a guide who can read them.

Canyons and the old town
Elephant Rock at dusk, then AlUla old town after dark when it is lit and cool.
